Worship
When it comes to the core values of Village Church of Gurnee (VCG), corporate worship tops the list. We believe corporate is foundational to the life VCG and is our highest priority as a church family. When we gather together to sing and worship we create an outward expression of how God is forming us as His people.
We realize that one worship style doesn't fit everyone, so we worship in many different ways – contemporary, traditional, and in between. We use a variety of mediums in worship at VCG - music, choir, solos, drama, video, scripture reading and prayer, among many others – including brand new ideas from time to time.
Above all, corporate worship at VCG is driven by three ideals:
- God-centered – we desire every element of our worship gatherings to bring glory to God.
- Excellence – not for our satisfaction, but we seek to bring our best before the Lord.
- Edifying – our aim is that every feature challenges, encourages and inspires the worshippers of VCG.
At VCG, worship is about spirit & truth – we want to be fervent and honest before the Lord.
