What are Wednesday Nights at Village?

On Wednesday nights, we’re not Village Church of Gurnee.
We are Village Church FOR Gurnee! Wednesday Nights at Village are for our community - for people young and old…and anywhere in between.

WHY? It’s simple, God loves our community and so, we do too.

Wednesday Night Events

  • Family Grace Group

    Wednesdays
    Beginning January 21 (16 sessions)
    6:30-8:00pm
    Open to adults (max class size: 14)

    If you have a family member who battles mental health issues, you know all too well how challenging it can be to know how best to walk alongside them within their struggle. This group is designed to help you better understand and support your family member. You will be equipped with practical skills anchored in Scripture and which incorporate best practices wisdom. You can also find encouragement from getting to know other people whose situations are similar to your own.

    NOTE: This class is offered in partnership with Love INC Lake County, through an exciting new relationship with Mental Health Grace Alliance.

  • English as a Second Language

    Wednesdays
    Beginning January 21 (20 sessions)
    6:30-8:00pm
    Open to all adults (max class size: 20)

    This class will equip students with writing, speaking, and listening skills needed for daily life and basic workforce entry. The class can also provide a foundation for meeting the English and Civics requirements of the U.S. citizenship process.

    Students can expect:
    - Helpful resources to develop
    English skills
    - Experienced bilingual instructors/tutors
    - A simple dinner served each week before class

  • Outreach for Ordinary People

    Second Wednesday of each month
    6:30-8:00pm

    This once-a-month group will take a highly-relational, highly-practical approach to helping you “be God’s strategy” in sharing Jesus with the people you know. We’ll be blessed to learn from Wayne & Ollie Okamoto’s decades of experience in sharing the gospel with people, and equipping others to do the same. Evangelism isn’t just for a select group of super-Christians...it’s for every Christian, and it’s for everyday Christians! Feel free to stop by, no registration needed.

  • Outreach Prayer Gathering

    First Wednesday of each month
    6:30-8:00pm

    Do you have a heart for seeing people experience God’s love through all we say and do? Each month, we’ll gather to pray very specifically for people who aren’t yet Christians...even as we pray that God would give us a greater burden for spiritually-lost people. We’ll also pray for our community, our global outreach partners, and more!
